Point of sale, cash and shifts
Sell at the desk with cash, terminal or payment link — and close the day with a cash count that adds up.

Opening a shift
Every till day starts with a shift. Go to Shift, enter the opening float in the drawer and open the shift. From then on, all cash sales are tied to you and this device.
Taking payment
- Cash — enter the amount received and Ticketjoy calculates the change.
- Card (external terminal) — take payment on your own terminal and confirm in the till.
- Payment link / QR — the visitor pays on their own phone; the order flips to paid the moment the money lands.
After payment the visitor immediately gets their tickets with QR code, by email or printed from the receipt.
Closing a shift
- 1Open Shift → Close.
- 2Count the drawer and enter the actual amount.
- 3Ticketjoy shows the expected amount and the difference.
- 4Confirm — the shift is recorded and can no longer be changed.
A difference is not a failure: record the reason in the notes field so patterns show up in reporting.
